Covid Vaccine Passport Update

As you might be aware, on Friday 3 December New Zealand moved to the COVID-19 Protection Framework (the traffic lights). Wellington is at the Orange Alert level and community sport is still able to go ahead.

The Eastern Suburbs Cricket Club (ESCC) has recently agreed that from Friday 3rd December 2021 all members who attend Club events within Easts Kilbirnie Park Clubrooms will be required to have evidence of their vaccination certificate through the My Vaccine Pass process (register and download it here).

In order to coach or manage a Junior Eastern Suburbs Cricket Team, you must be fully vaccinated by 1 January 2022 and willing to provide proof of your vaccination. We are following the guidelines of Sport New Zealand and the Ministry of Health.

The Club would ask that we all scan and sign-in and follow all of the good public health practices we have become accustomed to over the past 18 months.

*The guidelines are constantly being revised and ESCC reserves the right to amend this position as more information becomes available.

Background Info

The Ministry of Health has said that anyone who may have contact with students or be present at an education service at a time when students are present by 1 January 2022 needs a partial vaccination till 15 November and a full vaccination by the end of the year. Sports NZ says that even if the team isn't affiliated with a school, volunteers need to be vaccinated. Those involved in secondary schools are also getting required to show proof of vaccination.

Eastern Suburbs CC Covid Vaccine Statement

As a matter of safety and wellbeing, ESCC strongly recommends that all eligible members become vaccinated. It is of particular significance for those involved in junior and youth cricket or those who are exposed to high-risk situations.
